Location: Gaffney Middle School

Pay: Supplemental

 

SUMMARY:

 Cherokee County School District is accepting applications for Middle School Volleyball Coach. This position will work at Gaffney Middle School. The normal work schedule will vary between 2 and 4 hours per week and may include evening and weekend work: and performs related work as required.

 

ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES:

• Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents
• Teach volleyball techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics
• Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility
• Preside over team activities including all scheduled team practices and games
• Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one’s team
• Monitor players personal conduct during games
• Manage equipment and playing facilities in a responsible manner
• Performs related duties as required

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to pass background/drug screening. Ability to work well with children of various ages; basic knowledge of volleyball; Willingness to learn and adhere to the middle school rules and regulations governed by the SCHSL; willingness to learn and follow District rules and guidelines; prior coaching experience is helpful but not required.

 

Education/Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills to teach volleyball.

 

Working Conditions:

On a continuous basis, work indoors; intermittently travel to various off-site locations; may be exposed to dust, noise, hard surfaces, and may be exposed to varying temperature conditions while performing work.

Salary:  
Supplemental based on District Athletic Scale
